Your first conversation

Once your agent is paired, try this to check everything works end to end.

1. Open Herald. You land on the Talk screen with the orb in the middle.
2. Tap the orb and say: "What's the hostname of this machine?"
3. Your agent runs the command on its own machine and tells you the answer.

If you hear your machine's name, everything is connected: the app, your account and your agent.

Why this question?

A general-knowledge question ("What's the capital of France?") can sound right even if your agent isn't connected. A question only your machine can answer proves the whole path works.

Try a longer task

Ask for something that takes a while, such as "Check how much disk space is free and tell me what's using the most." While it works:

• You hear short progress updates, not every step.
• Ask something unrelated, like "What's 18% of 240?" You get an answer right away and the disk check keeps going.
• When it finishes, you hear a summary. The full output is on screen.
